Prana is the Sanskrit word for life, breath and energy, and Yama means control. Pranayama is the state of being in control of prana, our life force energy. By using techniques that have been used for millennia, we will cleanse the energy channels in the body and purify the circulatory and respiratory systems by using the breath, eradicating anxiety and managing stress. No previous breathwork experience is required.
Together, we will practice Hatha yoga. We will learn how the combination of yoga postures, breath, concentration and silent affirmations all work together to increase energy levels in the body and uplift consciousness in readiness for meditation. No previous yoga experience is required.
In these classes we will learn the basics of meditation and learn how to draw the life force inward toward the Self, instead of allowing it to leak outwards towards the senses. We will learn about posture, concentration and awareness. No previous meditation experience is required.
